Silicone resin 

Silicone resin is a thermosetting polysiloxane system with highly cross-linked structure. According to its structure, it can be roughly divided into methyl silicone resin, phenyl silicone resin, methyl phenyl silicone resin, methyl vinyl silicone resin, etc. The molecular side group of silicone resin is mainly methyl, which can be cured by condensation, platinum catalyzed addition, peroxide crosslinking and other ways.

Silicone resin is widely used as hardening coating, high temperature resistant mica binder and resistance coating, high temperature resistant electrical insulation coating, high temperature resistant coating and high temperature resistant binder. It is one of the most widely used silicone resins. These coatings and binders are mainly used for decoration and protection of chimneys, high-temperature pipes, high-temperature furnaces, oil cracking units and high-temperature reaction equipment in aerospace, thermal power plants and steel plants.

Pure methyl silicone resin or long chain alkyl silicone resin coating has very low surface tension, excellent waterproof performance, plus its superior cold resistance, heat resistance, elasticity and weather resistance, it is widely used in building waterproof and moisture-proof coating.

1. Silicone molding compound
Silicone molding compound is made of silicone resin as matrix, inorganic filler, curing agent, catalyst and release agent, after mechanical blending, heating, pressing or laminating. It has excellent weather resistance, high heat resistance, excellent electrical insulation and arc resistance, as well as waterproof and moisture-proof properties. In particular, its mechanical strength and electrical insulation basically remain unchanged with the change of temperature. It can be used to make electronic connectors, terminal blocks, arc extinguishing cover, high temperature working coil framework, transfer switch and other electrical components, as well as support insulation of electric heating parts.

2. Cage polyhedral silsesquioxane
Caged polysilsesquioxane (POSS) is a kind of organosilicon compounds whose molecular core is SiO2 like cage network formed by Si-O-Si and whose periphery is surrounded by organic groups. The general molecular formula is (rsio3 / 2) n (n = 8,10,12), and R can be alkyl, alkyl and derived functional groups. Because R group can be designed with large space, strong flexibility, and the molecular size is between 1-3 nm, it is a typical nanostructured compound. Poss materials with various reaction groups can be prepared. It is suitable for copolymerization, grafting, surface modification and so on. Poss modified polymers have been used as high temperature resistant materials in aerospace and other fields.
