If injected too much, it can cause postoperative hypertension and even optic nerve damage. Both should be avoided.
Silicone oil emulsification is almost inevitable in the past. Foreign reports can observe silicone oil emulsification in the earliest week or so, which is also the reason for the increase of intraocular pressure in some patients. The viscosity of silicone oil used now is 5700Cs, and the greater the viscosity, the less easy it is to emulsify silicone oil. For the sake of stability, ophthalmologists often need silicone oil with high viscosity.
