Ceramic coating is a general term for a type of inorganic non-metallic coating, which refers to the sprayed layer of ceramic coating material. Its composition includes oxide coating, non-oxide coating, silicate coating, and composite ceramic coating. The commonly used coating materials for oxide ceramics include Al2O3, TiO2, ZrO2, Cr2O3, SiO2, MgO, BeO, Y2O3, etc; Carbide ceramics mainly include SiC, WC, BC, TiC, etc; Nitride ceramics mainly include Si3N4, TiN, BN, AlN, etc; Boride ceramics, commonly used include TiB, ZrB2, etc.

Ceramic coatings mainly include high-temperature insulation coatings, wear-resistant and erosion resistant coatings, heat treatment protective coatings, high-temperature lubrication coatings, and atomic energy coatings. Due to the particularity of their materials, ceramic coatings also have advantages such as wear resistance, corrosion resistance, anti adhesion, high hardness, high temperature resistance, and good biocompatibility.

The manufacturing process of ceramic coating includes: fused coating, spray coating, vapor deposition coating, electrochemical process coating, sol gel coating, in-situ reaction coating, etc.
