What are the advantages of using water-based polyurethane for fabric coating

Hits: 533 img

Fabric coating finishing is a processing technology developed in textile finishing, as it can provide various functions to the fabric, as well as unique style, feel, and appearance, and can enhance product added value. Therefore, coated textile products are constantly emerging internationally and their application fields are becoming increasingly widespread. The low temperature resistance, high elasticity, and high modulus of polyurethane coating agents are their most obvious characteristics. However, most polyurethane coating agents are solvent based, while the two component solvent based polyurethane with better performance has been accompanied by further strengthening of environmental protection awareness and the improvement of environmental protection laws and regulations. It has become an inevitable trend for water-based polyurethane to replace solvent based polyurethane. Currently, some domestic manufacturers are starting to mass produce water-based polyurethane coating agents.

Waterborne polyurethane has good adhesion to various substrates, providing a soft and plump feel and leather feel, wear resistance, wrinkle and shrinkage resistance, resilience, flexibility, breathability and moisture absorption. It can also be used to adjust the polymer structure of polyurethane and can be used for waterproofing, oil resistance, anti fouling, anti pilling and other finishing of fabrics. It can be used as a durable setting agent, wrinkle and shrinkage resistant finishing agent, wear-resistant finishing agent, hand feel improver, and imitation leather finishing agent, Multipurpose adhesives, etc. In addition to the above advantages, waterborne polyurethane can be widely matched with other waterborne or lotion resins or additives, such as waterborne formaldehyde resin, epoxy resin, alkyd resin, acrylic resin, silicone resin, fluorine resin, rubber latex, paste resin, resin, etc. The use of blending methods to produce polymer "alloys" can complement each other's strengths and effectively reduce costs, resulting in unexpected good results.
