Organic fluorine low surface energy antifouling coating

Hits: 517 img

Teflon has a very low surface energy (114° contact Angle with water) and should theoretically have excellent antifouling properties. But many experts have made special research on the antifouling of organic fluorinated resin, and the basic theory is as follows:

A) The coating is a hot-melt film with poor compactness. Marine microorganisms are deep inside the film and firmly adhere to the micropores of the film.
B) In the resin, especially on the surface of the coating film, most of the CF2 groups, compared with CF3 groups, its stain resistance is obviously poor.
C) When Marine microorganisms contact the surface of the coating film, the polymer molecules in the surface layer are induced to rearrange, which improves the surface energy of the coating film.
