Silicone resin is a thermosetting polysiloxane system with high cross-linking structure. It is mainly made of organochlorosilane or corresponding organoalkoxysilane as raw material, through hydrolysis condensation and thickening rearrangement, to make a stable active polysiloxane prepolymer at room temperature. When it is used, it is directly heated or catalysed and condensed to form a solid silicone resin which is hard or less elastic. According to its structure, it can be roughly divided into methyl silicone, phenyl silicone, methyl phenyl silicone, methyl vinyl silicone, etc. The main side group of silicone is methyl, which can be cured by condensation, platinum catalytic addition, peroxide crosslinking and other methods.

1. Methyl silicone






It is the silicon resin with the lowest carbon content. After curing, it has the advantages of hard and transparent, low weight loss at high temperature and less smoke. It is mainly obtained by hydrolysis and condensation of methyl chlorosilane in solvent and low temperature. When methylalkoxysilane is used as raw material, a small amount of acid or alkali is often added as hydrolysis catalyst. It is mainly used as hardening coating, high temperature resistant mica adhesive and resistance coating.






2. Methylphenyl silicone






Due to the introduction of phenyl, it is superior to methyl silicone in thermoelasticity, adhesiveness and compatibility with organic and inorganic fillers, but it also has some disadvantages, such as high curing temperature, high temperature and easy back adhesion. Most of them are prepared by hydrolysis of methylchlorosilane and phenylchlorosilane in toluene or xylene. It is widely used as high temperature resistant electric insulating paint, high temperature resistant paint and high temperature resistant adhesive. It is the most widely used and most widely used silicone resin.








3. MQ silicone






The silicone resin with special structure is composed of single functional link (m) and four functional link (q). The main preparation methods are sodium silicate method and silicate ester method. The former process is simple and the raw material is easy to obtain; the latter M / Q is easy to control and the molar mass distribution is narrow. MQ silicone resin is mainly used as silicone pressure-sensitive adhesive filler, tackifier and reinforcing filler of liquid silicone rubber.
