What are the application characteristics of fluorocarbon resins? Ⅰ

Fluorocarbon resins are fluorine-containing resins or polymers with a large number of C-F bonds in the molecular structure. Due to the large electronegativity of fluorine atoms, the carbon-fluorine bonding energy is strong, and the fluorine atoms are tightly arranged around the carbon main chain, which can provide a better protective effect. The special structure gives fluorocarbon resins excellent resistance to weathering, chemicals, heat, and low temperature.
1. Characteristics of Fluorocarbon Resin
Fluorocarbon resin, as a high-performance resin material, has been widely used in many fields by virtue of its excellent properties.
Fluorocarbon resin has a strong C-F bond as its backbone, and compared with other resins, it has better heat resistance, chemical resistance, cold resistance, low-temperature flexibility, weathering resistance, and electrical properties, etc. It is also non-adhesive and non-wetting due to its good crystallinity. As fluorocarbon resin has excellent weather resistance, corrosion resistance and chemical resistance, so that the fluorocarbon resin as a film-forming material made of exterior coatings with very high weather resistance, but fluorocarbon resin coatings preparation cost is very high, most of them are used in the field of special requirements.
Fluorocarbon resins have certain environmental properties, and they can be recycled, further reducing the burden on the environment. However, the cost of fluorocarbon resin recycling is relatively high and is still in the initial stage. However, with technological progress and cost reduction, the application prospect of fluorocarbon resin recycling will be more extensive.
In addition, experiments have shown that the double-layer accumulative luminescent coating film prepared on the basis of fluorocarbon resin has the advantages of heat-, water-, weather- and scratch-resistant, with a higher initial luminance than the single-layer accumulative luminescent coating film and a longer afterglow time. Although the price of fluorocarbon resin is high, but as the main film-forming material of the base layer and top layer, it has good compatibility and excellent film performance.
It should be noted that fluorocarbon resin itself is not a light-curing resin, however, light-sensitive curing can be achieved by introducing photoinitiators. In addition, fluorocarbon resins can be cured by electron beam or heat.
