Description:

IOTA 9150 is a liquid polysilazane with a Si-N structure, the main functional bonds are Me. It could be cured at room temperature cured or high temperature.

The product has a unique Si-NH-Si bond, can be cured at room temperature, curing mainly involved in the reaction of Si-NH-Si hydrolysis and oxidation. While the Si-NH-Si bond and the substrate surface-OH easily react, and bring the substrate and good adhesion. Addition the appropriate catalyst in the resin can promote Si-H and Si-NH-Si reaction, after curing resin to form three-dimensional cross-linked structure, giving the material good mechanical properties.


IOTA 9150 has low viscosity and good adhesion, can be applied to various types of substrates by smearing, dipping, spraying, brushing and other methods, the main substrates are metals, alloys, glass, paint films and plastics (such as PP, PC, PVC, PMMA), etc.

Curing method and curing time:

(1)cured in room temperature without catalyst

Fully cured time: more than 24hours in room temp.

Heating up can accelerate curing, when the coating surface is dry, it can be completely cured by drying at 120 ℃ -180 ℃ for 2-6 hours.

The obtained cured coatings exhibit good performance in indoor environments; The toughness of the coating after curing will significantly decrease after 300 ℃.

(2)Thermal curing

After coating, curing can be achieved by baking at a temperature of 200 ℃ -250 ℃ for 10 - 20 minutes. To ensure use effects, it is recommended to leave it at room temperature for more than 12 hours after cooling.

Hardness after curing: self-curing at room temp. 24h: 7H

Thermal curing: 4H-5H

Coating hydrophobic angle: 100°-105°

Recommended temp. for use with varnish coatings: <500℃

Recommended temp. for use of formulated coatings: <1000℃

Chemical Masking: perform good with O2,H2O and other gas

Linear shrinkage: <1%

Hazard description: highly flammable liquid and vapour; harmful if swallowed; eye damage


Remarks:

1.It is recommended to use argon gas, high-purity nitrogen gas, etc. instead of air during spraying, as the self curing polysilazane at room temperature may partially solidify during the spraying process, which may cause the coating to turn white instead of transparent.

2. The heat cured hardness is measured by heating at 230 ℃ for 10 minutes and placing at room temperature for 12 hours.

3. The use temperature of IOTA 9150 coating is related to the film thickness. The higher the film thickness, the better the protective performance of the coating, but it is more

prone to cracking in high-temperature environments.

Dilution

1.    Solvent: adjustable according to customers’ requirements.

2.    Ratio IOTA 9150: Solvent=1:3-8, prepare the proper solvent, add into IOTA 9150 solution.

3.    Sealed with High purity argon/nitrogen in metal container.


How to use?

1.    Take the prepared IOTA 9150 polysilazane solvent, dip with clean non-woven fabric, and then wipe evenly on the surface of the car that has been treated.

2.    After operated, place in room temp. for 30-60min, heat in 60-80°C for more than 3hours to totally cured.


Compatibility

The product could be miscible with most non-polar solvents, such as alkanes, ethers, ketones, esters. Insoluble in alcohol and ether solvents, such as diethylene glycol dimethyl ether, diethylene glycol dibutyl ether, tetraethyl ether Butyl glycol ether.

It’s also miscible with a variety of resins, such as epoxy silicone resin, silicone resin, it will shorten the curing time and improve resin hardness when mixed with silicone resins.

Storage 

Operating and storing in a dry, cool and well-ventilated environment, away from heat and fire sources, the recommended temperature is 0-20℃.

The gloves, masks, etc. is necessary when taking the product.

Uncured product should not be placed close to fire sources, humid air, or water.

The container must be replace the air with nitrogen/argon and completely sealed in time after use.

Unused product that has been formulated cannot be recycled and should be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.

Products beyond the shelf life can be used only after the retesting complied.


Package

Packed with metal container in 100ml, 1L and 5L. 


Clean

Proper cleaning methods are important, quickly wipe down the surface with acetone or mineral spirits after use.

Once IOTA 9150 is cured, the coating cannot be washed away by solvent. It can be treated with strong alkali such as sodium hydroxide 10% aqueous solution for more than 5 hours.


Precautions:

The storage environment should be dry, cool and well ventilated, away from heat and fire sources. The packaging container must be kept tightly closed and handled with care. The storage temperature should be kept between 0°C and 20°C, and the storage period is 12 months.
