Fumed white carbon black, generated by high temperature hydrolysis of silicon halides (mainly silicon tetrachloride and methyltrichlorosilane) in a hydroxide flame to produce nanoscale white powder, the scientific name of fumed silica or aerosolized silica, mainly used as a reinforcing filler and multifunctional additives, a truly industrialized nano-materials in the world.
1、Production method
Fumed silica is also known as pyrolysis, dry or combustion method. The raw materials are generally silicon tetrachloride, oxygen (or air) and hydrogen, which are reacted at high temperature. The reaction formula is: SiCl4+ 2H2+ O2->SiO2+4HCl.
Air and hydrogen are sent to the synthetic hydrolysis furnace after pressurization, separation, cooling and dehydration, silica gel drying, dust removal and filtration respectively. The raw material of silicon tetrachloride is sent to the distillation tower for distillation, then heated and evaporated in the evaporator and sent to the synthesis hydrolysis furnace with the dried and filtered air as the carrier. After gasification of silicon tetrachloride at high temperature (flame temperature of 1000~1800℃), it is gas-phase hydrolyzed with a certain amount of hydrogen and oxygen (or air) at a high temperature of about 1800℃.
At this time, the generated gas phase silica particles are very fine, forming aerosols with the gas, which are not easy to capture, so it is first gathered into larger particles in the aggregator, and then collected by the cyclone separator, and then sent to the deacidification furnace, and then nitrogen-containing air blowing gas-phase silica to the PH value of 4-6 is the finished product.
2、Product Characteristics
The product is a synthetic amorphous white fluid powder with various specific surface area and volume and strict particle size distribution. This product is a white, loose, amorphous, non-toxic, tasteless, odorless, non-polluting non-metallic oxide. Its primary particle size is between 7 and 80nm, and its specific surface area is generally greater than 100㎡/g.
Due to its nano effect, it exhibits excellent properties of reinforcing, thickening, thixotropy, insulating, matting, anti-sagging in materials, thus it is widely used in rubber, plastics, coatings, adhesives, sealants, and other polymer industrial fields.
As a thixotropic agent and thickener of liquid, anti-settling, anti-hanging; improve the suspension and dispersion of pigments and fillers in the liquid system; used as a dispersing and grinding additives; improve the corrosion resistance of the coating; improve the fluidity of the powder, the stability of the storage; improve the amount of powder charged and the stability of the electric charge; improve the resistance to water; improve the anti-scratch properties of the paint film; improve the color vibrancy; fixing the special effects; improve the physical and mechanical properties of the paint film; Improve paint film adhesion and flexibility; improve rubber, elastomer viscoelastic properties, reinforcement; defoamer in defoamer; improve coating surface hardness, anti-scratch; films and elastomers to prevent adhesion; as an adsorbent and carrier; used in inkjet printing coatings; as a high-level filler for dental materials; as a catalyst carrier, significant thermal insulation, used for low-temperature and high-temperature insulation.
