Silicone resin, is a thermosetting polysiloxane polymer with highly cross-linked structure, both organic resins and inorganic materials, so what are the silicone resin uses?
Silicone resin is mainly used as insulating varnish (including varnish, enamel, color varnish, impregnating varnish, etc.) to impregnate H-class motor and transformer coils, as well as used to impregnate glass cloth, glass cloth wire and asbestos cloth to make motor casing, electrical insulation winding, and so on. Silicone insulating varnish bonded mica can be produced large-area mica sheet insulation materials, used as the main insulation of high-voltage motors. In addition, silicone resin can also be used as heat-resistant, weather-resistant corrosion-resistant coatings, metal protective coatings, waterproof and moisture-proof coatings for construction projects, mold release agents, adhesives, and the secondary processing of silicone plastics for the electronics, electrical and defense industries, as semiconductor packaging materials and electronic, electrical parts and components of the insulating material.
Silicone resin curing crosslinking roughly three ways: one is the use of silicon atoms on the hydroxyl polymerization and crosslinking into a network structure, which is the main way of curing silicone resin, the second is the use of silicon atoms on the connection of the vinyl, the use of organic peroxide as a catalyst, similar to the vulcanization of silicone rubber: the third is the use of silicon atoms on the connection of vinyl and silicone hydrogen bonding for the way of the addition reaction, such as solvent-free! Foam silicone resins can be produced by mixing silicone resins with blowing agents. Therefore, silicone resin according to its main purpose and crosslinking can be broadly divided into silicone insulating paints, silicone coatings, silicone plastics and silicone adhesives and other major categories.
