Organosilicon materials are generally composed of silicone oxygen chain links as the basic structural unit, the side chain can be connected with various other organic groups through the silicon atom, so the structure contains both “organic groups” and “inorganic structure”. This special composition and molecular structure makes it both organic properties and inorganic function. Silicone coating is often used as a transparent wear-resistant coating material due to its good light transmission. This kind of coating has sufficient flexibility, and the base material has good bonding properties; no double bond exists in the main chain, therefore, it is not easy to be decomposed by ultraviolet light and ozone, even if it is exposed to outdoor or ozone concentration for a long period of time in the environment, it will not occur cracking and viscous creep, the physical properties and electrical properties of basically no change; resin-type organosilicon coating materials, even if in the ultraviolet ray is strongly irradiated, but also will not be yellowed, and its Color can remain unchanged for many years, so many scientists and technologists have carried out research in this area.
It is understood that, if the introduction of a variety of nanoparticles in the coating as a reinforcing body, can further improve the abrasion resistance and densification of the coating. Taking methacryloyloxypropyltrimethoxysilane (KH570) hydrolysis polymerization product as the main film-forming material, introducing ethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) hydrolysis product silica sol as inorganic enhancer, adjusting the pH value of the two mixed solutions, and making use of the co-condensation reaction between the two hydroxyls to prepare an organic/inorganic composite transparent abrasion-resistant coating on the surface of the substrate. The organosilicon anti-fog wear-resistant coatings were prepared by using γ-epoxypropoxypropyltrimethoxysilane (KH-560, industrial grade), ethyl orthosilicate (TEOS, CP grade) and diethanolamine as the main raw materials, and the performance study was carried out.
The results showed that the fogging, abrasion resistance, transparency, adhesion and rupture resistance of the resulting coatings were excellent. The surface is homogeneous and flat, the pencil hardness can reach 3H~4H, and the contact angle with water is about 10°. The transparent film substrate is coated with a hard coating containing a fluorine-siloxane graft polymer and a UV curing resin, the weight ratio of the fluorine-siloxane graft polymer to the UV curing resin is preferably 0.05:100~5.00:100, and the hard coating is subjected to alkali saponification. The performance test showed that the pencil hardness could reach 2H~8H. The coating could be used as a base coat for an anti-reflection film when a silicone with a high refractive index was selected for the coating. Nitric acid was added to a composition of sodium acetate, tetraethoxysilane, methyltriethoxysilane, isopropanol and ethanol for a catalytic reaction for 2 h to obtain silica sol, which can be used as an abrasion-resistant anti-scratch coating.
