1、Insulation material
The first application technology of silicone resin as coating is silicone resin impregnated fiberglass cloth tape, which is used as an insulating and protective layer for electric wires on U.S. Navy submarines. China developed silicone resin in the 1950s, and at the initial stage, it was also mainly used for the insulation impregnation of H-class motor coils, the impregnation of fiberglass cloth for wire wrapping and slot insulation of H-class motors, the impregnation of fiberglass insulating casing, and mica tapes used for insulation, and so on.
In order to adapt to the needs of the situation, silicone coatings must be to the new process, new technology, new varieties, new uses direction. Through the silicone resin production process reform and organic resins and silicone resin cold splicing or copolymerization modification and other new technologies, silicone resin's three defects have been greatly improved, silicone coatings application areas have also been expanded.
2、Primer
The bonding force between the coating and the substrate includes mechanical bonding force, chemical bonding force, diffusion force and dipole force. The size of the bonding force directly affects the adhesion of the coating.
Methods to improve the adhesion between the coating and the substrate mainly include: grinding the substrate, sandblasting, reducing the construction viscosity of the coating, increasing the construction temperature, improving the wettability of the substrate, and silicone-related is the use of adhesion promoters, that is, the use of primer, silicone materials used for primer is mainly silane. Alkoxysilanes can improve the adhesion, fluidity, leveling, abrasion resistance, dispersion of pigmented fillers, water resistance and salt spray resistance of coatings and substrates, and have been widely used in primer formulations for a variety of metals and silicone-containing materials.
3、Heat-resistant coating
Metal filler has high thermal conductivity, can transfer the heat on the coated substrate; in addition, due to the oxidation of silicone resin, metal particles and silicone resin fusion, the formation of a stable structure containing metal a silicone bond similar to the ceramic coating. If more reinforcing fillers (such as mica powder or wollastonite powder) are added to the formula, better thermal stability can be obtained. Even for silicone-modified organic resins or organic resin-modified silicone resins, the addition of pigmented fillers can greatly improve their heat resistance temperature.
High temperature resistant coatings generally use high temperature resistant inorganic pigment fillers. Commonly used metal pigment is aluminum powder or zinc powder, white pigment is titanium dioxide, black pigment is inorganic black, graphite, lampblack and carbon black, yellow pigment is cadmium yellow, iron oxide yellow, zinc chromium yellow, sunlight-resistant yellow, red pigment is cadmium red, iron oxide red, blue pigment is phthalocyanine blue, inorganic blue, green pigment is chrome oxide green, phthalocyanine green, inorganic green, brown pigment is iron oxide brown, inorganic brown; Commonly used fillers are wet method mica, micronized mica, magnesium silicate, aluminum silicate, silicon dioxide, diatomaceous earth and aluminum stearate.
