The most important products of silicone resins are coatings, adhesives and molding compounds. Silicone resins can also be categorized by their application temperature range. The first category is above 400°C. At such high temperatures, the organic groups of silicone resins are oxidized by oxygen in the air, and volatile components are also produced, and ultimately silica is generated, which can be sintered with other heat-resistant materials to produce composites that are resistant to even higher temperatures. The second category is below 300°C. At this temperature, the silicone resin can keep its chemical structure basically unchanged even if it is used for a long period of time. 300~400℃ is a difficult temperature range because at this temperature, the organic groups will be oxidized, but the temperature is too low for the sintering process. The third category is under room temperature conditions. At this temperature, the wetting and hydrophobic properties of the silicone resin become important.
