Silicone Glass Resins and High Temperature Resistant Silicone Mica Binders

China's earliest organosilicon glass resin and high-temperature mica binder research is the Ministry of Chemical Industry Chenguang Institute of Chemical Industry, Huo Changshun, Chen Rufeng, etc., who in the late 1970s developed a successful use of monomethyltriethoxysilane hydrolysis polycondensation reaction in the presence of acid catalysts to produce CTS-103 organosilicone resins, commonly known as “organosilicone glass resins It is commonly known as “silicone glass resin”. The resin was used in the early days for the treatment of high-grade paper, as well as metal surface coating protection, but also for mica flakes or mica powder bonding.
In 1980, Fang Sanhua, Xue Zhiqing and Li Yansheng of Shanghai Resin Factory used solid cation exchange resin as temporary acid catalyst. Fang Sanhua used monomethyltriethoxysilane; Xue Zhiqing and Li Yansheng used monomethyltriethoxysilane as the main addition of a small amount of dimethyldiethoxysilane to synthesize SAR-1 and SAR-2 transparent, wear-resistant silicone resins, respectively. This resin has very stable storage performance because there is no residual inorganic acid, and no gelling was found after one year. As SAR-2 introduced a small amount of difunctional raw materials, the product is hard with soft, wider range of applications, can be widely used in glass, plastics, metals and other materials, especially for the protection of transparent plastics such as polycarbonate, polystyrene and polyvinyl chloride and as a moisture-proof insulating protective coatings for electronic components, and soon formed a large-scale production.
1980 ~ 1982 Chenguang Chemical Research Institute of Qi Hongqiu, Li Yan, Cui Zuomin; 1981 ~ 1983 Shanghai Resin Factory Xu Zhihong, Xue Zhiqing, etc. are used as the main raw material of one-methyl trichlorosilane, the production of organosilicon high-temperature-resistant mica binder, the product brand names were MR-30 and SAR-8. In addition to high temperature resistance, electrical insulation, moisture-proof, water-proof and other properties of general silicone products, these products also have high adhesion and flame retardant properties. Mainly used in the manufacture of household appliances in the high-temperature powder mica board, welding machine turn insulation with mica board, etc., can be added to a variety of heat-resistant pigments as a smokeless corrosion-resistant coatings, but also as a glass fiber composite laminates and silicon dioxide composition of non-combustible molding compounds or ceramic molding with resin. China has abundant mica powder resources, can be developed into a series of high temperature insulation mica board products.
Shanghai Resin Factory SAR-8, SAR-9 adopted by their own process characteristics of the route: the monomer of silicone hydrolysis, alcoholysis, and at the same time for the concentration, polycondensation. SAR-8, SAR-9 was put into production in 1983. The main raw material of this product is monomethyltrichlorosilane, so no matter producing MR-30 or SAR-8, SAR-9, the use value of monomethyltrichlorosilane can be greatly increased.
