Silicone resin industry is an important part of the silicone industry, usually the main chain of the molecule for the Si-O structure, and has a high degree of branched silicone polymers collectively referred to as silicone resin.

Silicone resin has the properties of both inorganic and organic materials, its dielectric properties remain stable over a wide range of temperature, humidity and frequency, and it also has excellent thermo-oxidative stability, chemical resistance, cold resistance, radiation resistance, flame retardant, salt spray resistance, anti-mold, weatherability, electrical insulation, hydrophobicity, and anti-adhesion and demolding properties. Therefore, silicone resin can be used as high and low temperature insulating paint, bonding mica powder or fragments, bonding glass cloth, as a base material for special coatings and as a base material or main raw material for the preparation of moisture-resistant adhesives and pressure-sensitive adhesives, etc. It is widely used in the electronics and electrical appliances, light industry and textile, construction, medical and other industries.

In recent years, China's demand for silicone resin has been maintaining a growing trend, the export price continues to rise, in some high-end market still has a lot of room for growth. According to ACMI/SAGSI, the total production capacity of silicone resin in China will be about 103,100 tons/year in 2022, with a year-on-year growth rate of 19.4%, and the growth rate has risen. Silicone resin is mainly used commercially in the three major markets of coatings and paints, adhesives, and silicone molding plastics, of which silicone resin is mostly sold to the outside world in solvent form in the coatings and paints market.
