Easy to react with specific substances: Most polysilazanes are relatively active and have high reactivity with water, polar compounds, oxygen, etc. If they come into contact with these substances during storage and transportation, chemical reactions may occur, resulting in changes in performance and affecting their use as insulation layer materials.
In terms of preparation process
Imperfect preparation method: The preparation method of polysilazane is not yet perfect, and the reaction process is difficult to precisely control, resulting in complex reaction products. The molar mass of the obtained products is often low, which may cause fluctuations in the performance of the prepared insulation layer and make it difficult to achieve stable high-quality standards.
Curing cracking problem: When using polymer precursor method to prepare ceramic insulation layer from polysilazane, during the cracking process, some organic groups are removed, which will produce gas and form many pores inside the material, which may reduce the insulation performance; During the cracking process, the material may shrink, and in severe cases, it may cause cracking, warping, and deformation of the material, affecting the integrity and reliability of the insulation layer.
High concentration control requirements: When treating ceramic and metal surfaces to prepare insulation layers, high concentration requirements are required for polysilazane. If the concentration is too low (polysilazane mass fraction less than 2%), it cannot achieve comprehensive protection of the substrate, and too high (polysilazane mass fraction greater than 10%), it is easy to cause coating fragmentation.
Performance aspect
Light curing speed issue: For some polysilazanes that prepare insulation layers through light curing, there may be a problem of too low light curing speed, such as polysilazanes containing double bonds connected to Si atoms. The double bonds are affected by the d-orbitals in Si atoms, reducing their reactivity and resulting in slow curing speed, which can affect production efficiency and processing cycles.
