UV adhesive is widely used in the fields of industrial assembly, daily necessities and medical device manufacturing due to its advantages of fast curing, energy saving and environmental protection. Especially in LCD manufacturing, optical product manufacturing, mobile phone assembly and other high-end technology areas, UV adhesives are more and more popular, market share is also growing steadily. In high-end applications, there are many test items for UV adhesive, such as water boiling resistance, high temperature and humidity resistance, aging resistance, cold and heat shock resistance and other performance test standards are very high, which requires high comprehensive performance of main resin. Famous adhesive manufacturers, such as Henkel, 3M, DYMAX, etc., occupy a leading position in some high-end markets, which is not only related to the strength of formula research and development, but more importantly, the accumulation of raw materials. A good resin may make the project research and development work more efficient.
Runao chemical has been committed to the R & D and application of various UV resins for a long time. In recent years, it has launched a series of products and constantly improved its product line. For high-end market applications, we have previously launched fsp8788, which has outstanding high temperature and humidity resistance and tensile strength. Based on the synthesis idea of fsp8788, we have recently developed a two functional polyurethane acrylate - fsp8394. The main purpose is to further improve the interface adhesion, flexibility and low temperature resistance.
Runao Chemical Technology Center has made a series of detailed tests on the resin, which is formulated with a small amount of monomers and an appropriate amount of initiators, mainly to investigate the curing speed, adhesive strength, cohesion, compatibility, high temperature and humidity resistance, cold and heat shock resistance and other properties of the resin. It can be concluded that fsp8394 has the following characteristics.
High bond strength
In the experiment, we tested the adhesion of different base materials, mainly including PC / PC, PC / PVC, PC / glass, glass / aluminum. The test data are shown in the table below. It can be seen from the table that fsp8394 has good bonding strength not only for plastic substrate, but also for glass and metal. Fsp8394 has good adhesion to substrate and wide versatility. In actual use, the formula can be adjusted according to different substrates to further improve the interface adhesion and obtain excellent bonding strength.

We prepared fsp8394 into UV glue and injected it into dumbbell mold. After UV curing, we formed adhesive strip. A series of test data are obtained by the tensile test of the rubber strip with a tensile machine. The results are shown in the table below. Fsp8394 has relatively high elongation at break, up to about 215%, strong cohesion, tensile strength up to 33 MPa, and excellent toughness. The excellent cohesion makes the inner part of the adhesive layer not easy to break, so it has excellent adhesive fastness.
High temperature and humidity resistance
In high-end applications, high temperature and humidity resistance is one of the most important test indexes. The initial bonding strength of many adhesive resins on the market is very high. However, after boiling or high temperature and humidity resistance test, the bonding strength drops significantly, and even the adhesive layer turns white or falls off directly. In fact, the water absorption of fsp8394 is about 1.9%, which has high double bond conversion. When tested at 85 ℃ / 85% RH for 1000h, the adhesive layer did not change and the adhesive strength slightly decreased. In the boiling water resistance test, the adhesive layer will not appear the phenomenon of fogging and whitening. These tests show that fsp8394 has excellent high temperature and humidity resistance and can be used in various high-end applications.
Low temperature resistance
When the temperature of some UVs drops in winter or when they are used in the North low temperature area, the film will become hard and brittle, resulting in the decrease of strength. For the application of these low temperature environments, it is necessary to select the main resin or adjust the formula structure. The Tg of fsp8394 is not high and its low-temperature toughness is good. The bonding strength of fsp8394 does not decrease significantly after the cold and hot impact test, so it can adapt to the low-temperature environment.
Curing rate
In the market, many adhesives with good toughness and high elongation have the problems of slow curing speed and low cross-linking density. If there is glue overflow, it is easy to have the problem of not drying and sticking. Fsp8394 has a fast curing speed, can surface dry at 600 MJ / cm2 energy, has a high double bond conversion rate, can meet the curing requirements of traditional mercury lamp and LED light source, and has a wide construction window.
