The properties of hydrophobically modified polyether thickeners are similar to HEUR. Hercules' Aquaflow NLS200, NLS210 and NHS300 are available. The modified polyurea thickener is a thickener developed by BYK. Its thickening mechanism has both the role of hydrogen bonding and the association of end groups. Compared with general thickeners, it has good anti-settling and anti-sagging properties. According to the different polarities of the end groups, the modified polyurea thickeners can be divided into three types: low-polarity polyurea thickeners, medium-polarity polyurea thickeners, and high-polarity polyurea thickeners. The first two are used for thickening of solvent-based coatings, while the highly polar polyurea thickeners can be used in both high-polarity solvent-based coatings and water-based coatings.
