Structure and classification of MQ resin

Hits: 985 img

MQ silicone resin is a kind of silicone resin with unique structure. It is a kind of three-dimensional spherical silicone grease which is produced by the co hydrolysis polycondensation reaction of silicone compound containing four functional siloxane links (SiO4 / 2, q) and silicone compound containing single functional siloxane links (r3sio1 / 2, m). Its molar mass is generally 1000-8000g / mol, which is from viscous fluid to solid powder. It is hard and brittle, with a wide range of glass transition temperature (TG).
It is generally believed that MQ silicone resin is a double-layer compact sphere, in which the sphere core is cage like SiO2 with Si-O chain connection, high density and polymerization degree of 15-50, and the sphere shell is r3sio1 / 2 layer with low density.
MQ silicone has many different types due to the different organic group R on the spherical shell:
When R is all methyl, it is called methyl MQ silicone or MQ silicone for short; when part R is h, it is called methyl hydrogen MQ silicone; there are also methyl phenyl MQ silicone, vinyl MQ silicone, phenyl MQ silicone, fluorine MQ silicone, MDQ, MTQ silicone, etc. The properties and application scope of MQ silicone resin mainly depend on its synthesis process conditions and the type and quantity of organic groups in the molecule, i.e. the quantity ratio of m-link and Q-LINK; the organic group R is mainly to increase the compatibility with other components and play a role of viscosity enhancement, while the SiO4 / 2 link is mainly to improve the strength of composite materials and play a role of reinforcement.
