Polysilazane is widely used in the formulation of coatings and varnishes, and it has excellent weather resistance, UV resistance, corrosion resistance, stain resistance, graffiti resistance, scratch resistance, heat resistance and other characteristics. The dry film thickness of polysilazane varnish is usually between 10 nm ~ 2 μ M. compared with amino alkyd varnish system and two-component polyurethane varnish system, polysilazane varnish has more excellent light retention and weather resistance; compared with silicone modified polyester varnish system, polysilazane varnish has more excellent heat resistance. After 2400 h salt spray resistance test (ISO 7253-2001), the aluminum coated with polysilazane coating is still free of corrosion; the steel coated with polysilazane coating is still free of corrosion after 2400 h condensate test (ISO 6270.2-2005). The water contact angle of polysilazane coating is about 95 ° and can be maintained for a long time. However, the water contact angle of polysilazane coating can be increased to more than 120 ° with proper additives. The coating is low viscosity, solvent-free, fluorine-free, and has excellent adhesion to most substrates, and has ultra-high hardness (9h +).
When polysilazane is heated to 450 ℃, the polymer will be transformed into inorganic ceramics (SiOx), which have very high hardness (9h) and super high heat resistance (up to 1800 ℃). In addition, polysilazane can be combined with most of the resins that do not react with it, such as thermoplastic acrylic acid, organosilicon, organic polysilazane and inorganic polysilazane mixture to form a cold mix.
