Application of High Temperature Resistant Coatings

Hits: 619 img

High temperature resistant coatings generally refer to coatings that can maintain appropriate physical and mechanical properties when the temperature is above 200 ℃ and the paint film does not change color or fall off. High temperature coatings are widely used in automotive parts, semiconductor technology, petrochemical industry, medical industry, electronic appliances and other fields. In industrial facilities, it is used for high-temperature anti-corrosion protection of high-temperature furnaces, flues, drying ducts, high-temperature hot gas pipelines, heating furnaces and other non-metallic and metal surfaces.

At present, the high temperature resistant coatings on the market can be mainly divided into organic high temperature resistant coatings and inorganic high temperature resistant coatings.

Inorganic high temperature resistant coating

Inorganic high temperature resistant coating has high hardness, and its heat resistance can reach 400~1000 ℃ or even higher. However, the paint film is brittle, and its water resistance is poor before it is fully cured. The requirements for substrate surface treatment are strict.

Organic high temperature resistant coating

Organic high temperature resistant coatings include heterocyclic polymer coatings (polyimide, polyamide, imide, polyphenylene sulfide and polyethersulfone) and elemental organic polymer coatings (organic silicon, organic fluorine and organic titanium). Among them, heterocyclic high-temperature resistant coatings have been used for many years at home and abroad, mainly for high-temperature insulation, with high price, poor storage and strict requirements for pigments; Although the high temperature anti-corrosion performance of the organic fluorine coating is superior, it is not easy to dissolve in the solvent. Even if it is dissolved, its solid content is low, the film formation is thin, the construction is inconvenient, and the mechanical performance of the organic fluorine coating is not ideal.

Organic titanium coatings developed late, the preparation is complex, and the application scope is not wide. Since the industrialization of organosilicon polymer in the early 1940s, the organosilicon high temperature resistant coating has begun to develop and has now become the most commonly used organic high anti-corrosion coating.
