On April 27, the Standing Committee of the 16th Suzhou Municipal People's Congress held its 26th meeting and voted to appoint Hu Zhibin as deputy mayor of Suzhou Municipal People's government.
Hu Zhibin, male, born in April 1978 in Jiangsu Province, is a class two Professor / doctoral supervisor, a distinguished professor in Jiangsu Province, and a distinguished professor of Yangtze River scholars from the Ministry of Education (2014). Deputy director of National Key Laboratory of reproductive medicine, director of Jiangsu medical animal experimental base, and project leader of Jiangsu Key Laboratory of biomarkers and prevention of cancer / collaborative innovation center of individualized medicine of cancer. It is mainly devoted to the study of molecular epidemiology of complex diseases. In the research of national fund for Distinguished Young Scholars (2012), the first batch of youth "973" projects of the Ministry of science and technology, major projects of the National Natural Science Fund, key projects of the National Natural Science Fund, youth top talent fund of the Central Organization Department (10000 talents plan), etc. He has published more than 200 papers in Nature Genetics and other international top academic journals, cited more than 5000 times in SCI and h index more than 40. He was selected as one of the highly cited Chinese scholars in Elsevier's "chemistry, genetics and molecular biology" in 2014. The research achievements have won 8 national invention patents, the second prize of National Natural Science Award, the second prize of science and Technology Progress Award and the first prize of many provincial and ministerial science and technology progress awards as the main finisher. Served as the vice chairman of reproductive science committee of Chinese Physiological Society, vice chairman of Youth Committee of epidemic branch of Chinese Preventive Medicine Association, etc. From 1997 to 2007, he studied at Nanjing Medical University, where he conducted postdoctoral training at MD Anderson Cancer Research Center in the United States. Since then, he has successively served as an associate professor and professor of the Department of epidemiology and health statistics, School of public health, Nanjing Medical University, and vice president, Dean and vice president of the school of public health. After April 2020, deputy mayor of Suzhou Municipal Government (on a temporary basis), member of the Standing Committee and vice president of Nanjing Medical University. Nanjing Medical University
Nanjing Medical University is one of the first batch of medical colleges jointly established by the Ministry of education, the national health and Health Commission and the provincial government, and Jiangsu high-level university. Founded in 1934, it was named Jiangsu Provincial College of medical administration. In 1957, it was moved from Zhenjiang to Nanjing and renamed Nanjing Medical College. In 1962, it was listed as the first six-year Medical College in China. In 1981, it was approved as the first batch of doctoral and master degree awarding units in China. In 1993, it was renamed Nanjing Medical University.
The school has 19 Colleges (including CONDA College). It has 27 affiliated hospitals and more than 50 teaching hospitals. There are more than 1800 in-service teachers and workers in the school headquarters, including 952 full-time teachers. There are 302 professors, 255 associate professors, 720 doctoral supervisors and 2317 postgraduate supervisors. At present, the school has 2 academicians of Chinese Academy of engineering, 1 foreign academician of National Academy of medicine of the United States, 3 distinguished professors, 2 young scholars under the Yangtze River scholars award program, 7 national talents project, 10 winners of National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars and 16 winners of Excellent Youth Fund.
Nanjing Medical University has entered the top 1% of ESI in 8 disciplines, including clinical medicine, molecular biology and genetics, biology and biochemistry, neuroscience and behavior, pharmacology and toxicology, immunology, general theory of Social Sciences, and chemistry, among which clinical medicine has entered the top 1 ‰ of ESI.
In 2019, Nanjing Medical University won 296 NSFC projects, ranking first in Independent Medical University for six consecutive years.
The current president of Nanjing Medical University is academician Shen Hongbing.
Shen Hongbing, born in May 1964, academician of Chinese Academy of engineering, special professor of "Yangtze River Scholar" of Ministry of education, doctoral supervisor.
From 1981 to 1986, he studied in the Department of health, Nanjing Medical College and obtained a bachelor's degree. From 1986 to 1989, he studied epidemiology in the Department of health, Nanjing Medical College, and obtained a master's degree. In the same year, he joined the Department of epidemiology and health statistics of Nanjing Medical University as a teacher. From 1996 to 1999, he majored in epidemiology in school of public health, Shanghai Medical University (now Fudan University) and obtained a doctor's degree. From 1999 to 2002, he studied as a senior visiting scholar in the Department of cancer epidemiology, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, University of Texas. Since 2002, he has been vice president and Dean of School of public health of Nanjing Medical University. In October 2011, he was vice president and member of the Standing Committee of the Party committee of Nanjing Medical University. In April 2014, he was president and Deputy Secretary of the Party committee of Nanjing Medical University.
