There are many types of high-temperature resistant epoxy resins, and typical epoxy kits can only withstand temperatures up to 150 degrees Celsius. Of course, there are also high-temperature resistant epoxy resins that can withstand temperatures up to 600 degrees Celsius. This type of resin is usually specially formulated with fillers such as quartz, and has wear resistance and high heat curing properties.

At the same time, this type of epoxy resin also has thermal conductivity, as well as excellent chemical resistance and steam exposure resistance, making it very suitable for packaging and potting. Some industrial high-temperature epoxy resins, due to their unique curing agent, carbon fiber, and flexible rod structure, can withstand heat of over 1500 degrees, which is generally used in aircraft components.

When epoxy resin is exposed to high temperatures, its thermal, mechanical, and electrical properties will undergo changes. The Tg or glass transition temperature of epoxy resin can sometimes be affected. This is a critical moment for epoxy resin to transition from a glass state to a rubber state. Sometimes, epoxy performance does not transition back to the desired state, which means it will remain soft. The performance of high-temperature resistant epoxy resin is related to its HDT or hot deformation temperature.
