Classification of polysilazane

Hits: 488 img

Polysilazane (PSZ) is a type of inorganic polymer with Si-N bonds as the repeating unit in the main chain. Polysilazane can be divided into two categories: organic polysilazane (OPSZ) and superhydrogenated polysilazane (PHPS). Due to its unique structure, polysilazane can be converted into SiCNO, SiCN, or silica ceramics under high temperature conditions, and its hardness can reach over 8H after curing. Polysilazane has excellent corrosion resistance, oxidation resistance, radiation resistance, and high temperature resistance, and is widely used in aerospace, semiconductors, photovoltaic cells, high-temperature coatings, ceramic materials, resin materials, and other fields. Silazane polymers can be converted into SiCN, SiCNO, or silica ceramics under high temperature conditions, making them of great application value in high-temperature resistant coatings.

Polysilazane can be divided into two categories: organic polysilazane (OPSZ) and perhydrated polysilazane (PHPS). Polysilazane was discovered in the 1880s, but due to its complex preparation process, it entered the commercial development stage in the 1950s when it was launched. The synthesis methods of polysilazane include ammonolysis, amination, hydrazine hydrolysis, ring opening polymerization, dehydrogenation coupling, etc. With the continuous deepening of research, the number of polysilazane synthesis methods will increase.
