Preferred heat-resistant coating - silicone resin

Hits: 476 img

Heat resistant coating: Organic silicone resin is used as a coating in the temperature range (200 ℃ or higher) that cannot be used in general organic resin coatings due to its heat resistance. In addition, due to its excellent weather and water resistance, it also has strong resistance to outdoor degradation and high affinity with ordinary inorganic pigments. Heat resistant coatings have formed various products based on their applications, materials, temperature ranges, etc. Among them, silicone resin is widely used in many products.

The heat resistance of Si-O-Si, which forms the main structure of the molecular structure, is excellent due to its strong bonding energy and high thermal decomposition temperature. Usually, in a high temperature environment of 250 ℃, there is almost no decomposition, aging, or discoloration.

Coated aluminum pan is the most basic kitchen utensil, characterized by light weight and low production cost. In addition, compared with expensive cast iron or stainless steel pans, aluminum pans use less oil. The fat content of fish, Chicken rolls and pancakes is much lower, which also meets the needs of modern consumers who pay attention to healthy diet.

But for a long time, aluminum pans have had a fatal weakness: poor heat resistance. Therefore, when making dishes that require high temperature cooking such as frying steak, those picky chefs are more willing to choose other metal based pans.

However, in this regard, aluminum pans are also constantly being improved: usually the inner surface is coated with polytetrafluoroethylene, also known as PTFE, and the outer surface is coated with organosilicon polyester resin.

Aluminum flat bottomed pots coated with silicone polyester resin can withstand cooking temperatures of 250 º C for a long time, and even high temperatures of 300 ° C in a short period of time.

In contrast, traditional surface coating resins based on pure organic polymers do not have very high heat resistance, but if organic silicon modified polyester resins are used, the heat resistance of the coating will be significantly enhanced.

During the baking process, after the moisture in the coating evaporates, the crosslinking reaction can be completed by continuously heating the coating at a temperature of 250 ° C to 280 ° C for about 10-15 minutes. Silicone resin is used as a base material to wrap the solid particles - pigments and fillers - in the coating, firmly bonding them to each other and to the substrate, thus forming a strong coating to protect the product from external influences.

If unmodified silicone resin is used, the heat resistance of the coating will be incomparable, and this coating can be used for engine components. However, the usage environment of cooking utensils and other household items is far less demanding than that of engines, so there is no need to use pure silicone resin. Moreover, the cost of pure silicone resin is higher and it will not be the preferred base material for kitchen appliance coatings. Silicone resin not only maintains excellent substrate adhesion, but also helps to regulate coating performance to meet specific application requirements as much as possible, while ensuring high cost-effectiveness.
