2. Silicone coatings and their advantages
Silicone coatings are the most commonly used coatings in high-temperature environments and are also the most diverse. The main component of silicone coating is silicone resin, which has silicon-oxygen-silicon as the main chain and organic groups connected to the silicon atoms. It is a semi-inorganic polymer.
In the process of making the coating, by adding appropriate pigments, fillers and additives to the resin, the heat resistance of the coating can be increased to 600°C or even higher.
Introducing various functional groups such as methyl and phenyl into the macromolecule main chain can also greatly improve the mechanical properties, rigidity, strength, electrical insulation properties, high-voltage arc resistance, hydrophobicity, corrosion resistance, etc. of the silicone resin. Great improvement has also resulted in a rich variety of silicone coating types and functions.
Silicone coatings also have many advantages: good adhesion, easy construction, low pre-treatment requirements, high gloss, good fullness, and good weather resistance. At the same time, excellent performance, convenient construction, and low cost have promoted the widespread use of silicone coatings in the field of home appliances.
