According to its structure and performance characteristics, fluorocarbon resin can be divided into the following three main types:
1、PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene)
PTFE is a perfluoropolymer with extremely high heat resistance, chemical stability and electrical insulation. In the industrial field, PTFE is widely used in the manufacture of high-temperature insulating materials, corrosion-resistant seals and slide bearings. Its low coefficient of friction gives it a significant advantage in the field of friction and wear, and can be used in aerospace, automotive, electronics and other industries in the manufacture of parts.
2、PVDF(Polyvinylidene fluoride)
PVDF is a semi-fluorine polymer with excellent chemical resistance, heat resistance and mechanical properties. In chemical, petroleum, construction and other fields, PVDF is widely used in valves, pumps, pipelines and other equipment sealing and corrosion. In addition, PVDF also has good barrier properties, can be used for packaging materials and film manufacturing.
3、FEVE(Copolymer of fluoroolefin and alkyl vinyl ether or ester)
FEVE is a fluoropolymer with high weather resistance, abrasion resistance and adhesion. In the fields of coatings, plastics and rubber, FEVE resin can be used to improve the weathering and abrasion resistance of materials and extend their service life. In addition, FEVE resin can also be used in the coating of building curtain walls, automobile parts, electronic products and other fields.
PTFE and PVDF fluorocarbon resins are of baking type, which need high temperature to form a film and cannot be cured into a film at room temperature; FEVE fluorocarbon resins mainly contain functional groups such as -OH or -COOH, which can be dissolved in general organic solvents and can be cured into a film at room temperature, and they are widely used in outdoor building protection fields.
