IOTA 9120 is a liquid precursor polymer composed of repeated Si-N and Si-N-B units, which serves as both a thermosetting resin and a ceramic precursor. The curing method of this material is very flexible. After high-temperature cracking, the cured material of IOTA 9120 will first transform into amorphous ceramics and eventually form crystalline ceramics. The composition of ceramic products is closely related to the cracking atmosphere and fillers, which provides more possibilities for the customized application of materials.
IOTA 9120 also has many excellent characteristics, such as low viscosity, short curing time, diverse curing methods, high ceramic yield, and good adhesion to materials such as metals, ceramics, and graphite, making it easy to prepare SiBCN ceramics.
It has a wide range of applications, including ceramic based composite materials, metal based composite materials, high temperature resistant adhesives, anti-corrosion coatings, high temperature resistant and anti-oxidation ceramic coatings, ceramic preform impregnates, thermosetting resins, and organic-inorganic hybrid materials.
