July 7, 2025 – Anhui Aiyota Silicone Oil Co., Ltd. announced the release of IOTA 2056 GUM, a groundbreaking ethyl silicone rubber engineered to withstand extreme cold environments. By introducing ethyl groups into the dimethylpolysiloxane side chain, the material achieves a glass transition temperature (Tg) of -147°C, setting a new industry benchmark for low-temperature resistance and addressing critical material challenges in cryogenic equipment, aerospace, and polar engineering.
IOTA 2056 GUM’s unique molecular structure eliminates crystallization-induced hardening at low temperatures, while its constant elastic modulus and damping factor ensure stable mechanical performance across extreme temperature fluctuations. This makes it ideal for damping and vibration control in precision electronic devices, enhancing reliability under harsh operating conditions.
Key applications include seals for cryogenic storage tanks, insulating layers for high-latitude oil pipelines, low-temperature hoses for spacecraft, and elastic components in deep-sea exploration equipment. In aerospace, the material ensures fuel system integrity at temperatures below -140°C, while its flexibility and fatigue resistance extend service life in polar scientific expeditions. Developed over three years, IOTA 2056 GUM has passed ISO 10993 biocompatibility testing and thermal cycling validation, outperforming international counterparts in key metrics.
As a leading provider of silicone-based solutions, Aiyota’s latest innovation strengthens its portfolio of specialty elastomers. “IOTA 2056 GUM breaks foreign technological monopolies, advancing China’s self-reliance in extreme environment materials and supporting deep-earth, deep-sea, and deep-space exploration strategies,” stated Mr. Zhu, General Manager of Aiyota. The product is now in mass production, available globally in 25kg cartons with a 1-year shelf life when stored unopened below 40°C.
