IOTA 9118, a vinyl-functionalized liquid polysilazane, stands out as a pale yellow transparent liquid that cures to a colorless, transparent coating with >95% visible light transmittance. Boasting ultra-high hardness (6-7H) and superior adhesion (0-class cross-cut test), it redefines standards for high-temperature materials. With a low viscosity of 10-40 cp, it accommodates diverse application methods (brushing, dipping, spraying) on substrates like metals, alloys, glass, and plastics (PP/PC/PVC/PMMA), serving coatings, adhesives, and non-flammable composites.
Dual curing options ensure flexibility: thermal curing via >250℃ baking (no initiator), peroxide crosslinkers (reduced temperature/time), or 80-100℃ platinum catalysis; UV curing with cleavage-type photoinitiators delivers excellent indoor performance. Post-pyrolysis, cured products form amorphous ceramics below 1400℃ and crystalline phases above 1400℃, yielding SiC/Si₃N₄ (N₂/Ar), Si₃N₄ (NH₃), or SiOCN (air). With 50%-70% ceramic yield and >1600℃ heat resistance (with base coat), it provides exceptional barrier protection against O₂, H₂O, and gases.
Featuring <1% linear shrinkage, 100°-105° water contact angle, and >95% transmittance, IOTA 9118 excels in high-temperature anti-oxidation coatings, transparent films, and precision electronic masking. It compatibilizes with epoxy silicone and silicone resins, enhancing hardness and reducing curing time. Packaged in 100ml-5L sealed metal drums, it offers a 12-month shelf life (0℃-20℃ storage).
