A new organic polysilazane material, IOTA 9283, has recently been launched on the market. This liquid resin features a silicon-nitrogen backbone with methyl and fluorine-modified functional groups, specifically engineered for room-temperature curing hydrophobic coating systems.
IOTA 9283 offers low viscosity, fast curing, excellent adhesion, and superior water-repellent properties. The cured coating achieves a contact angle of 110° to 120° while maintaining high transparency and light transmittance (>95%). It is compatible with various substrates such as metals, glass, and plastics, making it ideal for applications in coatings, adhesives, composites, and easy-to-clean surfaces.
The product cures at ambient temperature, with a surface-dry time of just 10–15 minutes. Full cure is achieved within 24 hours or can be accelerated by heating. IOTA 9283 also demonstrates strong anti-oxidation and anti-corrosion properties, suitable for use in environments up to 300°C.
With multiple application methods including spraying, dipping, and brushing, IOTA 9283 is highly compatible with various resins and non-polar solvents. For storage, the product should be kept in a cool, dry environment, with a shelf life of one year.
This innovative material provides a reliable solution for industries ranging from industrial protection to electronics and architectural decoration.
