IOTA 9283 Organopolysilazane - Ushering in a New Era of Room Temperature Curing Hydrophobic Coatings

Recently, a material named IOTA 9283 organopolysilazane has been officially introduced to the market, bringing revolutionary breakthroughs to the field of hydrophobic coatings. IOTA 9283 is a liquid polysilazane with a silicon-nitrogen structure, featuring methyl and fluorine-modified functional groups. It is specifically designed for room temperature curing hydrophobic coating systems.

This material boasts a unique Si-NH-Si bond, enabling it to cure at room temperature through hydrolysis and oxidation reactions of Si-NH-Si. Meanwhile, the Si-NH-Si bond readily reacts with the -OH groups on substrate surfaces, granting the material excellent adhesion to substrates. When appropriate catalysts are added to the resin, they promote the reaction between Si-H and Si-NH-Si, forming a three-dimensional cross-linked structure that imparts outstanding mechanical properties to the material.

IOTA 9283 not only exhibits low viscosity and good adhesion but also forms cured coatings with superior hydrophobicity and a transparency exceeding 95%. It is suitable for various application methods and can be widely used on diverse substrates, including metals, alloys, glass, paint films, and plastics.

Furthermore, IOTA 9283 boasts short curing times, versatile curing methods, oxidation resistance, corrosion resistance, and ease of cleaning. It exhibits exceptional adhesion to materials such as metals and ceramics. Its applications span coatings, adhesives, non-combustible composite materials, and more, particularly in fields requiring hydrophobicity and low surface tension for easy cleaning.
