Recently, a product named Organosilicon Polysilazane (Room-Temperature-Curing Coating Resin) IOTA-OPSZ-9150 has drawn attention in the coating industry. This transparent and stably batch-prepared polysilazane resin offers brand-new solutions for multiple applications with its unique properties.
IOTA-OPSZ-9150 features Si-NH-Si bonds, which enable it to cure at room temperature through hydrolysis and oxidation reactions. The Si-NH-Si bonds can also react with the -OH groups on the substrate surface, resulting in a strong adhesion to the substrate. With the addition of a catalyst, the reaction between Si-H and Si-NH-Si can be promoted, forming a three-dimensional cross-linked structure and giving the cured material a hardness of up to 9H.
This product boasts numerous advantages. After curing, it forms a transparent solid and is resistant to alcohols, ketones, and other organic solvents. As a single-component product, it is soluble in ethers and alkanes but should not be diluted with alcohols or water. Additionally, it offers properties such as UV resistance, non-flammability (after curing), oxidation resistance, and corrosion resistance. It cures at room temperature, is easy to apply, has long-lasting performance, and is easy to clean.
In terms of technical parameters, it is colorless and transparent, with a solid content of over 99% and an appropriate viscosity. The surface-drying time is 2 hours, and it fully cures in 3 days at 20 - 25℃. The hardness varies under different curing conditions. The light transmittance (visible light) is over 90%, the water contact angle is 105°, and the metal adhesion (cross-cut method) reaches Grade 0.
In application fields, IOTA-OPSZ-9150 can be used for anti-graffiti coatings on buildings and anti-corrosion coatings for metals. It can also serve as a curing agent for silicone resins and a hardening agent for ordinary organic resins, with a broad market prospect.
