Surface treatment:
The surface of the substrate needs to be thoroughly cleaned to remove impurities such as oil stains, dust, rust, and old coatings. Chemical cleaning, sandblasting, and other methods can be used for treatment. For example, rust stains on metal surfaces should be cleaned with suitable rust removers, and sandblasting can make the surface rough and enhance the adhesion between the coating and the substrate.
For some high-temperature coatings with high requirements, the roughness of the substrate surface should be controlled within a specific range, usually between 2.5-12.5 μ m, which requires the selection of appropriate sandblasting abrasives and process parameters to achieve.
Environmental condition control:
The temperature of the construction environment is generally recommended to be between 5 ℃ and 35 ℃. If the temperature is too low, it may cause slow drying and poor flowability of the coating. If the temperature is too high, it is easy for the coating to dry quickly, resulting in poor leveling and coating defects.
The relative humidity should be controlled below 85%. Excessive humidity can easily cause problems such as blistering and whitening of the coating, as moisture mixed into the coating and evaporating at high temperatures can damage the coating structure.
The construction site should maintain good ventilation, firstly to ensure the health and safety of construction personnel and avoid inhaling too much volatile organic solvents and gases; The second is to facilitate the evaporation of solvents during the drying process of coatings, allowing the coating to solidify better.
Paint blending
Strictly follow the ratio: Multi component high-temperature coatings should be accurately formulated according to the ratio specified in the product manual. If some inorganic high-temperature coatings are composed of components A and B, deviations in the ratio may affect the final performance of the coating, such as incomplete curing, insufficient hardness, etc.
Thoroughly stir evenly: Suitable stirring tools should be used during mixing to thoroughly stir the coating and ensure that all components are evenly mixed. The stirring time should reach the specified duration, usually not less than 5 minutes, to prevent local pigment precipitation and uneven distribution of additives, which may affect the appearance and performance of the coating.
Control the mixing amount: Reasonably mix the amount of paint according to the construction progress and the applicable period of the paint, avoiding excessive mixing at once. After exceeding the applicable period, the paint will gradually become ineffective, making it impossible to apply normally and ensure the quality of the coating.
