Ceramic based coatings have been widely used in various industrial fields due to their excellent high temperature resistance and chemical stability. Here are some typical ceramic based coating products:
Alumina Coatings:
Aluminum oxide coating has high hardness, excellent wear resistance, and good insulation performance, and is commonly used as the lining of high-temperature furnaces, wear-resistant components, and insulation layer of electronic equipment.
Zirconia Coatings:
Zirconia coatings are commonly used in thermal barrier coatings (TBCs), especially on aircraft engines and gas turbine blades, due to their low thermal conductivity and high thermal expansion coefficient, to reduce heat conduction and improve the heat resistance of components.
Silicon carbide coatings:
Silicon carbide coating has extremely high hardness, heat resistance, and corrosion resistance, making it suitable for component protection in high-temperature and corrosive environments, such as heating elements in chemical reactors and high-temperature furnaces.
Silicon Nitride Coatings:
Silicon nitride coating has good thermal shock resistance and mechanical strength, and is commonly used in high-performance ceramic engine components and bearings.
Aluminum Titanate Coatings:
Aluminum titanate coating has an extremely low coefficient of thermal expansion and good thermal shock resistance, making it suitable for components that need to withstand rapid temperature changes.
Chromium Oxide Coatings:
Chromium oxide coating has good corrosion resistance and wear resistance, and is commonly used for surface protection of chemical pumps, valves, and seals.
Magnesium Oxide Coatings:
Magnesium oxide coating has high melting point and good insulation performance, suitable for high-temperature electrical insulation applications.
These ceramic based coatings are usually applied to the substrate surface by thermal spraying, chemical vapor deposition (CVD), physical vapor deposition (PVD) or sol-gel method. Choosing a suitable ceramic based coating requires consideration of factors such as working environment temperature, chemical properties, mechanical stress, and cost-effectiveness.
