Recently, a new organic polysilazane product named IOTA 9108 has been officially launched, bringing new solutions to the fields of ceramic matrix composites (CMCs), metal matrix composites, and more with its unique ceramizable properties.
IOTA 9108, also known as a ceramizable precursor polymer, is a liquid precursor polymer composed of repeating Si-N units. The product not only has low viscosity, short curing time, and diverse curing methods but also exhibits high ceramic yield, good adhesion to metals, ceramics, graphite, and other materials, and is easy to prepare into SiCN ceramics with a temperature resistance of up to 1500°C.
In terms of product applications, IOTA 9108 is widely used in areas such as CMCs, metal matrix composites, high-temperature-resistant adhesives, anti-corrosion coatings, high-temperature oxidation-resistant ceramic coatings, ceramic preform impregnants, thermosetting resins, and organic-inorganic hybrid materials, demonstrating its strong application potential and market value.
In terms of technical parameters, IOTA 9108 is a colorless to light yellow liquid with a solid content of over 99%, a molecular weight between 700-900, a viscosity of 10-30 cp, a ceramic yield (800°C) of over 55%, and a cured ceramic yield (800°C) of over 75%. Its ceramic density ranges from 1.60-2.00 g/cm³.
In terms of storage period, unopened IOTA 9108 has a shelf life of six months, while the applicable period after opening is influenced by protective measures, lasting over two months under sealed, low-temperature, and dry conditions. When using, it should be carried out in a ventilated and dry environment with necessary protective measures taken.
