May 2025 – Anhui Iota Silicone Co., Ltd. announces the launch of IOTA 9118, a cutting-edge organopolysilazane ceramic precursor polymer. Renowned for its low viscosity, high-temperature resistance, and versatile curing methods, IOTA 9118 is set to revolutionize applications in coatings, adhesives, and composite materials.
IOTA 9118 features a Si-N backbone with vinyl functional groups,呈现淡黄色透明液体 due to vinyl groups and proprietary additives. Post-curing, it forms a colorless, transparent coating with >95% visible light transmittance, 6-7H hardness, and 0-class adhesion to metals (cross-cut test). Its exceptional oxidation/corrosion resistance and gas barrier properties effectively block O₂, H₂O, and other gases. The product offers flexible curing options: thermal curing (80-250℃, with/without initiators, peroxides, or platinum catalysts) and UV curing (with cleavage-type photoinitiators), adapting to diverse industrial processes.
As a ceramic precursor, IOTA 9118 excels under extreme heat: 50-60% ceramic yield at 800℃, transforming into amorphous ceramic below 1400℃ and crystalline ceramic above 1400℃. In N₂/Ar, it yields SiC and Si₃N₄; in air, SiOCN dominates. Recommended service temperatures exceed 800℃ for clear coats and 1600℃ for base coats, with <1% linear shrinkage ensuring thermal stability.
Ideal for aerospace heat-resistant components, automotive brake coatings, and electronic adhesives, IOTA 9118 is compatible with epoxy silicone and silicone resins, enhancing hardness and reducing curing time. Packaged in 100mL-5L sealed metal containers, it boasts a 12-month shelf life at 0-20℃.
