Anhui Aiyota New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. today announced the launch of IOTA ST5, a cutting-edge transparent superhydrophobic nano-coating designed to redefine surface protection across automotive, architectural, and household applications.
Crafted with advanced superhydrophobic nano-particles and eco-friendly surfactants, IOTA ST5 forms an invisible, transparent film on substrates such as glass, metal, and ceramics. Its standout features include: exceptional water repellency and slipperiness (water contact angle >150°, rolling angle <10°), enabling the "lotus effect" where water droplets bead and roll off instantly; long-lasting durability with high hardness and abrasion resistance; and environmental safety, complying with RoHS and REACH standards for low toxicity and sustainability.
IOTA ST5’s versatility makes it ideal for diverse scenarios. In automotive settings, it enhances driving visibility by repelling water on mirrors and windows. For buildings, it keeps glass facades and ceramic exteriors self-cleaning, reducing maintenance efforts. In homes, it simplifies upkeep of metal kitchenware and ceramic tiles by preventing oil and dirt adhesion.
Application is user-friendly: clean and dry the surface, spray IOTA ST5, wipe evenly with a lint-free cloth, and cure via low-temperature baking (50-100°C for 10-30 minutes) or high-temperature treatment (160°C for 3 minutes). The product boasts a 3-year shelf life and requires storage away from heat, flames, and children.
"Inspired by nature’s lotus effect, IOTA ST5 leverages biomimetic nanotechnology to overcome limitations of traditional coatings," said a spokesperson for Anhui Aiyota. The company aims to further explore nano-surface technologies, expanding applications in new energy and electronics to enhance global quality of life through innovation.
