IOTA 9283 Organopolysilazane Debuts: Room-Temperature Curing Hydrophobic Coating Redefines Material Performance

July 2025 – Anhui Aiyota Silicone Oil Co., Ltd. launches IOTA 9283, a cutting-edge organopolysilazane featuring methyl and fluorine-modified groups. This innovative material sets new benchmarks in room-temperature curing, superhydrophobicity, and transparency, revolutionizing applications in coatings, adhesives, and composites.

IOTA 9283’s standout features stem from its unique chemistry. Via Si-NH-Si bond hydrolysis and oxidation, it achieves touch-dry in 10-15 minutes and full curing at room temperature within 24 hours (6H hardness), with accelerated curing (2-5 hours) at 120-150°C. Fluorine modification delivers exceptional hydrophobicity (115° water contact angle, maintaining 109° after 350°C/1h exposure) while ensuring >95% visible light transmittance, balancing functionality and optical clarity.

Versatility is another hallmark: with viscosity as low as 2-5cp, it accommodates brushing, dipping, and spraying on substrates like metals, glass, and plastics (PP, PC, PVC). The coating boasts 0-class adhesion (cross-cut test), <1% linear shrinkage, and >100μm crack threshold. Its thermal stability exceeds 300°C for clear coatings and 1000°C for formulated coatings, making it ideal for high-performance paints, non-flammable composites, and easy-clean applications requiring low surface tension.

For safe handling, IOTA 9283 is packaged in 100ml-5L metal containers, with a 12-month shelf life (0-20°C storage). Post-application, tools must be cleaned immediately with acetone or solvent oil; cured coatings are solvent-resistant.

"Aiyota’s IOTA 9283 eliminates the need for high-temperature curing, offering multifunctional protection for automotive, electronics, and new energy sectors," said the R&D director. The company aims to further expand organopolysilazane applications in specialty coatings, driving advanced manufacturing innovation.
