Organic Polysilazane IOTA 9108: Pioneering Innovation in High-Temperature Materials

Recently, a novel material named Organic Polysilazane IOTA 9108 has officially entered the market, attracting widespread attention within the industry due to its unique product characteristics and broad application prospects.

IOTA 9108 is a liquid precursor polymer composed of repeating Si-N units, serving both as a thermosetting resin and a ceramic precursor. It boasts low viscosity, short curing time, diverse curing methods, high ceramic yield, excellent adhesion to metals, ceramics, graphite, and more, facilitating the preparation of SiCN ceramics with a temperature resistance of up to 1500°C.

In application fields, IOTA 9108 exhibits immense potential, being applicable to ceramic matrix composites, metal matrix composites, high-temperature adhesives, anti-corrosion coatings, and more. Its packaging is tailored to customer needs, utilizing 0.5-20 liter plastic buckets for sealed packaging with a solid content exceeding 99%.

Technically, IOTA 9108 presents as a colorless to light yellow liquid with a molecular weight ranging from 700 to 900, a viscosity of 10-30 cp, and a ceramic yield (at 800°C) exceeding 55%, while the cured product's ceramic yield (at 800°C) surpasses 75%.

Notably, IOTA 9108 is sensitive to water and alcohol solvents, necessitating avoidance of protonic substances like acids and bases. Curing conditions can be achieved at 120-180°C or utilizing platinum catalysts at 80-100°C. Pyrolysis conditions vary with temperature and atmosphere, yielding ceramic products of different compositions.

Currently, IOTA 9108 has been officially launched onto the market, promising to bring about new transformations in the high-temperature materials sector with its outstanding performance and broad application prospects.
