IOTA 9118 Organic Polysilazane: A New Powerhouse for High-Temperature Resistant Coatings

Recently, IOTA announced the launch of its latest research and development achievement—IOTA 9118 Organic Polysilazane. This liquid polysilazane, featuring a silicon-nitrogen structure with primarily vinyl functional groups, is specifically designed for high-temperature resistant coating systems, causing a stir in the coating industry with its outstanding performance and broad application prospects.

IOTA 9118 boasts low viscosity, excellent adhesion, high-temperature resistant coatings, diverse curing methods, and is non-flammable after curing. It offers oxidation and corrosion resistance, is easy to clean, and has strong adhesion to metals, ceramics, and other materials. It can be applied via various methods such as coating, dipping, spraying, and brushing onto a wide range of substrates including metals, alloys, glass, paint films, and plastics (such as PP, PC, PVC, PMMA).

In terms of technical parameters, IOTA 9118 appears as a light yellow transparent liquid with an appropriate molecular weight, a purity exceeding 99%, and ideal density and viscosity ranges. After curing, it exhibits high hardness, a large contact angle for hydrophobicity, excellent light transmittance, strong adhesion to metals, and a storage period of up to one year.

IOTA 9118 offers flexible curing methods including thermal and UV curing, which can be selected according to actual needs. Its pyrolysis conditions are clear, enabling it to transform into amorphous or crystalline ceramics at high temperatures, with the product composition closely related to the pyrolysis atmosphere.

Additionally, IOTA 9118 is miscible with various non-polar solvents and resins, which can shorten curing time and enhance resin hardness when mixed. It should be handled in a dry, cool, and well-ventilated environment, with necessary protective measures taken.

IOTA packages IOTA 9118 in 100ml to 5-liter metal drums to ensure product stability and reliability. Tools should be promptly cleaned with acetone or solvent oil after use. The launch of IOTA 9118 is set to bring new development opportunities to the high-temperature resistant coating industry.
